The AM transmitter can be used near an AM radio that is tuned to 1000 in order to hear the sound source from the user in the AM radio or send voice and music across the room or street.
The heart of the AM transmitter is the oscillator wherein three leads were used out of four. The voltage on the third lead will start jumping between 0V and 5V one million times each second when the power is connected to two of the leads. A metal can is used to build the oscillator where the corners of the can are rounded except for the sharp lower left corner.
The other main part of the circuit is the audio transformer which is used as a modulator. To match the loudness of the music or voice needed to transmit, the strength of the radio waves is changed by the modulator. It contains two leads on one side for the high impedance and three leads on the other side for center tap.
One end of a long wire is connected to the oscillator. A 9V of electricity is applied alternately to the end of the wire.
