Arduino Based TB-007 Metal Detector

Figure:1

Figure 1

The TB-007 smart robot is equipped with a metal detector and is based in an Arduino with a motor shield which has the ability to control the two main motors, including a stepper motor and three servos at once.

A wireless camera is attached at the front top of the TB-007 that allows the user to monitor the bots treasure hunting progress from the comfort of his desk while using it to locate the hidden treasures on the beach, forests, or deserts. A servo is used where the camera is mounted and at the front is a laser pointer attached for detecting purposes.

There are two separate detector coils wound around a ferrite rod that made up the metal detector. It has the ability to detect metal as well as live electric cable since the circuit is a beat frequency oscillator which is the simplest type of metal detector. Two radio frequency oscillators which are turned near the same frequency are employed by the basic beat frequency metal detector. The first is called the search oscillator and the other is called the reference oscillator. The two oscillator outputs are fed into a mixer.
