Arduino GPS Datalogger

Figure:1

Figure 1

This project is just like a tracker that can sense a data with the accurate time and location.

This shield is designed to support four GPS modules that is straight-forward and easy. Plug in a supported GPS module and run, logging to a FAT16-formatted SD flash memory card and storing analog sensor data along with precise location, date and time in CSV format. Whenever you are done, the files that you have saved are now ready to transfer to the spreadsheet, Google Earth and GPS visualize.

On the backside of the board is an SD card slot where it stores the coordinates in a text file. The total runtime can vary from five hours to twenty depending on how you choose to power the device and how you use the device. But with the use of 9v battery, its runtime would be more or less up to 3 hours. With how often you read the device and whether you maintain the GPS lock will affect the power consumption. It also requires an engine board to receive the timecode data from GPS satellites, the required connector is already soldered on and ready to use.
