This tactile metronome may be considered as a tap-controlled or tap-tempo metronome and beat looper which sets the frequency ready by tapping the piezo speaker.
The beats per minute is shown in the display and the speed is adjusted using the two buttons. There are currently up to 12 beats long and the patterns can be tapped into it. It jumps in and continues beeping in a rhythm as long as the pattern is tapped in three times. One pitch of the beep will be higher or lower if one of the buttons was held while turning the metronome ON in order to play with more than one at a time.
Some of the features of this tactile metronome include an easy to assemble kit, fully-open source, piezoelectric speaker, 7-segment display, professionally made PCB, and pre-programmed microcontroller. The settings of the tactile metronome can be adjusted using the push buttons as well as the pattern tempo and beep pitch.
During the operation, any taps to the black circular speaker element are recorded and any pattern needs to be repeated a minimum of three times. When the device detects a tap, the display gets brighter.
