Building Breadboard Headers for ATtiny Microcontrollers

Figure:1

Figure 1

Providing a quick start for projects with 8 and 20 pin AVR microcontrollers is the main purpose of building these tiny controller boards.

The project was built due to some problem when prototyping on a breadboard with all the wires needed to be setup before beginning the actual project. The 6-pin In-System Programming provides some trouble where an adapter for a 3×2 pin header has to be made followed by cutting short wires and connecting the controller to the header. The construction of these breadboard headers makes them very handy since they occupy only one more row on each side as a controller would need. They can be used with ATtiny13, ATtiny45, ATtiny85, and ATtiny2313 AVR microcontrollers without including any fancy stuffs which makes them just as simple as possible. They just needs to be plugged.

Some features included in these headers are the 6-pin ISP header, serial connection header with FTDI-cable compatible, blocking capacitors, reset switch & reset pull-up resistor, and 8MHz resonator. The boards are inspired by the Arduino compatible RBBB and the Boarduino and they may look like younger brothers and sisters if they are put side by side.
