The MCU controllable camera-mount carousel is made from old CDs that serves as the spinner with the potentiometer that functions as the axle in order for the position to be determined.
During assembly, a circle concentric was created with the outer edge of one CD where 6 equal segments divide the circle and divide each by two through a compass, making a total of 12 segments of the circle. Holes were pre-drilled for mounting the potentiometer to the piece of wood and mounting the bolt upright where the camera will be installed. A bump on the surface is contained in the potentiometer for keeping it aligned in the panel. For the carousel to point forward when the potentiometer is in the exact center of its analog range, the nut is threaded onto the shaft of the potentiometer and tightened down.
The LPC2148 MCU is used to build this device but any cheap MCU with analog inputs and free GPIO pins with a free GNU toolchain and an RS232 port can be used as alternative. The readings come in the RS232 terminal program. The MCU should be provided with a power source with resistors.
