The circuit was built based on a single integrated circuit TDA2050 to produce an amplifier with high fidelity since the IC is intended for use as Class AB.
Since the IC can sound very well, the output of the circuit can come from speakers or headphone. This is made possible due to the DPDT switch that is shared between both channels. The DPDT switch can be removed if the use of headphone is not required.
With an 8-Ohms load, the circuit’s power output is 25 W since the IC can operate in a voltage supply ranging from 4.5 V to 25 V. At this power output, approximately 65% is the efficiency provided and to maintain stability, the gain of the circuit should be at least 24 dB although the gain can reach up to 30 dB. This amplifier can be used with most line-level sources like CD players, tuners, mp3 players, and the like.
In order for the circuit to have low noise, a proper grounding is required. The wirings should be tightly twisted and as short as possible and kept away from AC sources. Each channel should have a separate power supply.
