The IR light dimmer project was built for use in connection to existing home wiring installation inside a junction box which is usually located above the light switch.
Two versions of PCB are available depending on the capacitor size resulting to 28.5 × 27mm and 32.5 × 26.5mm. The schematics provided for any purpose should be followed in order to properly connect the dimmer to wiring installation so that some side effects can be avoided such as burning PIC microcontroller or serious fire.
The remote control buttons must be programmed after connecting the dimmer to installation. It has a programming procedure while learning the remote control IR codes. Both the light bulb and LED will blink to confirm IR codec reception during programming. The previous button can be repeated if the remote control does not have all 4 buttons although it will cancel some features. If the TV’s remote controller is used, the teletext buttons should be chosen to avoid switching channels when operating the dimmer.
A bit longer wall-pushbutton press can activate the sleep timer for precisely more than 1.8 seconds or when the appropriate button on the remote controller is pressed.
