The project contains 12 LEDs in a circular board which are used to produce animation with the use of a microcontroller.
The arrangement of the LEDs is built around the PIC16F628A microcontroller and the project is utilizing the Simple LED Animation Kit (SLAK) to perform the operation. The only difference from the SLAK kit is the board design but the design on this project has the potential to be more useful in some ways. It could be made easily as a medallion on a necklace. If blue LEDs were used, it could imitate the Reactor Core package of Iron Man.
The board can be supplied with 4.5V or 3 AA battery cells while the PIC is still in a socket. The SMD parts to thru-hole parts can be easily changed and the update can be posted on the board. The set of animations for both linear or straight line arrangement and circular arrangement can be refined.
Some innovations can be done on the project wherein three different LED colors can be used for more attractions which may include four red, four green, and four blue or maybe yellow with possible mixture of colors.
