Light Dimmer Controlled Through Wireless Connection

Figure:1

Figure 1

The project utilizes a TV remote control that can switch a lamp ON and OFF the normal way or exceptionally dim the light.

The design of the project includes a self-made PCB and a normal TV remote control. There will be a soft-start until the lamp burns at the previously adjusted dim level when the power is switched ON. The lamp can be dimmed, turn more or less bright, with the ‘0’ button in TV mode. When the remote control is pressed for a short time, nothing happens because the remote control should send more than one RC5 signal per button pressed.

The maximum and minimum dim levels can be adjusted as desired by using P+ and P- buttons from a system and with the ‘1’ button as the startup brightness. The lamp starts up at the adjusted dim level the next time the power is switched ON.

The dim level changes slower than normal during adjustment. The red and green LED blinks for a while when the adjustment is OK. It should be noted that a remote control does not always send what is expected and since some buttons are useless.
