Microcontroller Based Digital Blue Clock

Figure:1

Figure 1

The digital blue clock project is base on Atmel ATmega8535 microcontroller where the main purpose is to make a useful gift for friends and family.

From the design of the device, the circuit board is in the middle of two sheets of transparency gray acrylic. The DC power jack comes in from the right since the sides of the enclosure are open. Mostly hidden on the left side of the circuit board is the alarm buzzer and four blue, 3mm LEDs are used by the board. Between the hour and minute 7-segment LED modules, two are being used while the third one is used to indicate the alarm as ON or OFF. The AM or PM is indicated by the fourth LED. If the power is lost, a small lithium battery is used by the clock to keep the current time. The EEPROM is used to save the alarm time and state which is restored after a power outage.

The push buttons can be seen much better without the smoked gray acrylic and they consist of the Alarm, Time, Hour, and Minute button. Any of the four buttons can turn OFF the alarm.
