This project refers to a process computer of digital processing to process measurements which provide a non-contact method of measurement of materials on a conveyor belt and screw conveyor system.
This effective measurement system consists of an LPC2312 microcontroller, a sealed radioactive source, a detector, an LCD, and a power supply. Without direct contact, the system weighs material on a conveyor belt. By the amount of radiation that passes through, the mass of the material is measured by the scale. The radiation measurement is converted by the ionization chamber or detector into a frequency signal that is proportional to the radiation field. The variables such as conveyor belt speed are factored by the measurement computer so that accurate total weight can be determined.
By installing a measurement computer at industrial field to process the signal coming from the detector of nuclear weighing system, it provides more convenience as it processes the signal, displays the data, and output the standard signal of 4-20mA to other control device like PLC and RS485 output.
Some of the features of the measurement computer include 16 keys keyboard, isolated digital I/O, colored LCD display, and isolated RS485 communication.
Wire-to-board interconnection options from Sullins feature a wide range of sizes and applications
MCC’s TVS series high-power suppressors protect sensitive components from voltage spikes and transients
Evaluation boards that streamline evaluating circuit protection on RS-485 serial device ports
