This MPGuino is considered as a part of the Open-Gauge Instrumentation tool which stands for Miles Per Gallon gauge used for fuel injected vehicles built around the platform of Arduino.
One of the screens of the project includes the main display that consists of instant and current MPG, and tank miles and gallon. MPH, MPG, Miles, and Gallons are displayed in the formatted screen. The other screens include the free memory, CPU utilization, and raw that will display inj open seconds, inj open microseconds, injector count and vss count.
A setup screen is also available where the first time the program was run where 3 buttons are being pressed at the same time. The selected digit can be changed by using the left and right buttons while the current digit can be rotated using the middle button. The currently displayed value to current variable can be saved by selecting OK which advances to next variable.
The device can be reprogrammed and updates can be applied when new features or software are available. The extra circuitry in MPGuino may also be used for monitoring the speed sensor in the vehicle and fuel injectors.
