The projected is created to measure and count the frequencies and times as well as reckoning the events by using discrete high speed CMOS logic.
The device is featuring a frequency measurement from the range of 0.1Hz to 10 MHz with the gate time of 0.1, 1, and 10 seconds. The measurement of time ranges from 0.001ms to 10000s in wherein the time clock is 1 MHz and 1 KHz. The display consists of 5-digit LED while having a display hold. There is a protection from over and under voltage from the CMOS –compatible Schmitt trigger inputs while the microcontroller can be steered during operation.
The PCBs are self-designed which are used to implement the complete circuit. A hard enclosure with BNC inputs is built to house the circuit and it includes a power supply with 230V rating. After the assembly, the frequency counter can be tested with half-open case. A small oscillator can be used during the testing process. The counter uses a switch and the large potentiometer to feed the output into a coax cable. There is a 9-pin SUB-D connector with a 5-pin flat band cable attached at the back plane.
