The project is termed as Rundfunker which is a tabletop mp3 player that can scan wireless LAN for local audio and be able to play the shared audio files.
It has a simple and powerful interface, an LCD display, and a built-in 2-way speaker system. An interestingly designed housing with an exclusive aluminium front panel integrates all hardware components which makes the device independent of any external peripheral equipment. The power can be supplied by a mains adapter with 12V DC.
The desire to combine the advantages of an FM receiver with the personalized collection of music on a PC is the idea behind the development of WLAN radio. This is due to the features of an FM receiver which is usually portable, uncomplicated, and compact while PC mp3 can’t be heard beyond the four walls of a room.
The Rundfunker is made in a radio-shaped mp3 player where all mp3s that are shared in the local network are offered with wireless access without the volume-restrictions of the known USB sticks. Using this device can access huge audio libraries through WLAN with unlimited size plus easy to use buttons in front panel.
