Circuit required

hello
i want to convert from 24VAC or 24VDC to 12VDC the circuit shall work for Ac voltage and DC voltage and output shall be only DC please if any body having such circuit please provide it to me i want to know how it will be if possible please give some tips regarding the working principle

how this circuit converts from AC voltage and DC voltage to DC voltage

I think what Gundappa means is both AC and DC can be applied to the input. That can be achieved using a rectifier and filter (i.e. an AC to DC converter. DC will just pass through the converter, and AC will be changed to DC. That way, the input of the DC-to-DC converter sees the same thing, regardless if AC or DC is applied.

The “rectifier” can be a single rectifier or a bridge rectifier — depends on the current load, the frequency of the ripple and input ripple voltage tolerance of the DC-to-DC converter.

The filter can be a simple capacitor or an elaborate LC pi filter. Again, depends on the current load, the frequency of the ripple and input ripple voltage tolerance of the DC-to-DC converter.

The Google search: “dc-to-dc converter explained” nets a wealth of information on this subject ;)

Then see my reply to…oh, that was you…to you, above :P

How will you learn anything if all we do is send you a circuit without you having even made an attempt yourself At least think of how you would put such a circuit together

What will you learn by this ?? Answer = nothing and if that was the case then I might as well copy all circuits for my exams and ask the universities throughout the world if they wouldn’t mind if I didn’t sit exams but copied everybody else’s work or ask them to do all my studies for me ?? And then give me a fancy title of Director, Heads of technical services, Senior RBS banker, , stock broker < comet radio Vision branch manager , maplins assitant manager , British gas as well , comma comma lots more I can think of “Yes Im laughing at this too “ whilst all those who have worked hard at this earn less than you do

Bingo I’m now a manager knowing full well that I haven’t actually learnt a thing Huge big plus know nothing about the business I’m in just to compound matters

Here is why your businesses collapse and here is why your imports pass into the UK unchecked, untested, giving rise to massive economic recessions and here is why I wont do that for you

You go away and make an effort yourself come back to the forum with at least an attempt at achieving your goal and then people will help you

Even a block diagram of what you might think the circuit would be made up from might be a good start not even so much a Google lets look it up and see

Now you know why I say if you don’t teach people in the UK how to do this and rely on other countries all the time eventually your country will become a third world country because this person , asks someone else to send him a diagram and doesn’t have a clue Makes it accordingly and then exports this item which never worked properly in the first place because Joe Blogs decided it was better that h sit back and ask someone else without having at least an understanding of what components would be used or be the best

Right or wrong?? You tell me hmmm

Blunt maybe but I hate to say this not whishing to sound rude but this unfortunately is what’s damaging the Industry , Sarcastic as I may sound sometimes There are just far to many people like this who do just that MESS UP THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY

As a small little experiment for you just to show you the decline in the UK standards Go round to every single electronics outlet, car audio outlet, computer outlet, hi fi outlet , radio controlled hobbies outlet and ask the manager and the staff to show you how to use a digital meter , all ranges and ask them to identify a PNP transistor or an NPN transistor , or to recite ohms law , or to identify non polarized electrolytic

View the shop also, Also ask all of them what connectors to use what size cable etc etc etc

Seriously go and do it ask them about what compiler to use what advantages dot net has over other languages what processor to use

Check up on up to date stock find out how many zenor diodes they keep , capacitors , inductors , rs232 converters what IC’s to use what is their maxim range , what is their pic micro range , what are their power fet ranges everything you could think of

Do the same with Communications companies ask them what the OS of the phone is what can you do with the languages what IDE to download where to get it from?

Do the same with software companies

I guarantee you will be lucky to get a 10% pass rate

Go to all the main stores PC world , Maplins , CPC , Comet

You going to get the shock of your lives when you do this Education key problem compounded by expense rising costs of living and lack of investment by companies schools shutting libraries Number of people who can’t read or write in the UK you name it I guarantee Ill shock you with just how little these so called professional outlets know

Go check out customer service Go and investigate number of people who cant get their money back who haven’t been paid on time Number of shops smashed Number of banks who closed down good professional companies

Go and do it don’t sit their waiting for better days make it happen

Gundappa Patil,

The following circuit will output 12V 2A using a 24VAC or 24VDC input.
