siemens turbine sgt400
I have recently some research about Siemens turbine, specially SGT400 model.
this type of turbine can be used as a generator and also as a compressor. Both of them has a core “core engine “
http://www.energy.siemens.com/hq/en/power-generation/gas-turbines/sgt-400.htm
I need to know is it possible to use core engine which designed for generator in compressor mode practically. In fact, my question focused on this subject “ is it risky? or what kind of problem may be happens if we use these core engine instead of each other, is it any difference in their designs and so on. “
I read all Siemens documents about SGT400. but i have no drawings and i m not expert in this filed :(
Its highly appreciated if you help me in this regards.

You just need to read the page you linked more carefully. It says the turbine unit can DRIVE compressors or generators or pumps, it does NOT carry out these functions itself.
Also, at the top of your linked page is a “Contact” button. You can ask Siemens all your technical questions.
Thanks for your answer.
in my view the SGT400 is mixed of two parts. turbine + Generator or Compressor or pumps.
Generator or Compressor used a part which name is core engine.
my question is that is there any difference between these core engines? (or we can use generator core engine which designed for generator as a compressor)
unfortunately because i don’t want to buy these parts , Siemens dose not answer to my question ,
and i hope i find someone here who works with this system .
or introduce other professional forum in this subject that may help me.
