LASER has become a commonly used word and ubiquitous tool, but what is it?
Answer:
- Monochromatic, the light is only one wavelength or color (in theory).
- Collimated, the light is going in a single direction instead of random directions.
- Coherent, meaning the light waves are in phase.
Lasers are used everyday in drilling,cutting, surgery, guidance, bar code readers, and optical disk drives.
