Applications Engineering Intern
In this role, the Application Engineering intern will be part of a team focusing on technical support, software and board development for new products and critical issue resolution for IDT’s top tier customers. As an Intern, the individual will be involved in lab bench performance test/study, participating in software debug and qualification cycles, plus creating custom automation routines quicker customer response times.
Responsibilities will include lab bench testing to understand the product, optimizing circuits and device settings, providing feedback on software and assisting with other tasks. Collaboration is key in this role, as well as creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to solve unexpected issues.
Minimum of 20 hours/week, additional time if necessary.
The Timing Products Division of IDT is a recognized industry leader in silicon timing, offering the widest range of consumer / datacenter / wireline / wireless products.
Basic Qualifications/Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
- Must demonstrate experience with lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, etc.
- Good understanding of phase locked loop (PLL) fundamentals.
- Good understanding of basic analog circuit design and mix signal circuit design.
- Good understanding of power filtering.
- Proficient in at least one of the programming languages - Python, PERL, TCL or C++
To be eligible for an internship at IDT, students must be currently enrolled at a college/university.
