Core Independent Ultrasonic Range Detection

Learn to send and receive Ultrasonic pulses using a CPU/Core Independent approach that decreases accuracy while increasing range. The PIC16F1769 microcontroller uses Pulse-With Modulation (PWM) with core-independent peripherals like the Digital Signal Modulator (DSM) to create a pulsed signal that detects objects. The signal range is increased by creating a variable voltage reference using the Programmable Ramp Generator (PRG). The noise is reduced by delaying the receiving ultrasonic transducer using a Configurable Logic Cell (CLC) and a Hardware Limit Timer (HLT).
