Power Integrations

Power Integrations, Inc., founded in 1988, is the leading supplier of high-voltage analog integrated circuits (ICs) used in power conversion. Power Integrations ICs enable compact, lightweight power supplies that are simpler to design and manufacture, more reliable, and more energy-efficient than those made with competing technologies.

HiperPFS-4 Highly Efficient Across Load Range

This video shows how HiperPFS-4 ICs have an efficient light load mode of operation. Also, it has a variable frequency control algorithm that enables high efficiency across the full load range. The switching frequency will change under different load conditions. Under light load, switching frequency is very low, minimizing switching losses. These ICs reduce no load input power to less than 20 mW with the PFC off and less than 60 mW with PFC on. This means you can eliminate the separate standby converter and still meet stringent standby input power requirements.
